Website information

Terms and conditions

Terms for using this website and the boundaries of its information and offers.

Operator and scope

This website is operated by Lewis Matlock, operating under the CyberWiz name, in Yucaipa, California, United States. Contact lewis@cyberwiz.io. These terms describe permitted website use and the limits of the information provided. They do not replace a signed consulting agreement or enrollment terms. A visit, inquiry, or booking does not by itself create a consulting, fiduciary, attorney-client, or other professional engagement.

Information and professional judgment

Articles, checklists, examples, and other materials provide general educational information. They are not advice tailored to your organization, legal advice, an audit opinion, or a certification of compliance. Obtain appropriately qualified advice and validate recommendations in your own environment before acting. Security risks change; no method eliminates all risk. SOC 2 readiness work is preparation, not an independent audit, and no audit result, regulatory outcome, or security outcome is guaranteed.

Engagements, prices, and training

Services begin only on separately agreed terms covering scope, fees, responsibilities, confidentiality, data handling, and deliverables. Website descriptions are not a binding offer to perform unspecified work. Training availability, dates, total fees, voucher conditions, cancellation, refund, and rescheduling terms must be provided and agreed before enrollment or payment. This website does not take payment or enroll you automatically. No exam pass, certification, employment, or earnings outcome is promised. Nothing here removes applicable consumer cancellation, refund, or other mandatory rights.

Permitted use and intellectual property

You may read, share links to, and download materials made available for download for lawful personal or internal organizational use, keeping applicable attribution and notices. Original content and brand assets remain owned by their respective rights holders. Third-party and open-source materials retain their own licenses; those licenses govern their use. Except as a license or applicable law permits, do not reproduce content commercially, misrepresent authorship, or imply endorsement without permission.

Prohibited conduct

Do not use the website to violate law or others’ rights, submit unlawful material, introduce malware, impersonate another person, disrupt access, bypass access controls, or conduct unauthorized security testing. Nothing here restricts activity that applicable law protects. If you discover a potential vulnerability, report it privately to lewis@cyberwiz.io without sending sensitive records or exploiting it further. This statement does not authorize testing.

Communications and external services

Send only information you have authority to share. An initial inquiry is not a confidential engagement and ordinary email may be insecure; do not send credentials or confidential client records before agreeing on a secure channel. You retain ownership of your inquiry content; sending it permits its use to respond and discuss the requested work, not to publish it. Booking and source links lead to services outside our control. Their availability, content, and terms may change. A link is not an endorsement or a promise about that provider. Personal information is handled as described in our privacy notice.

Availability and warranties

To the extent permitted by applicable law, this website and its general informational materials are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement. We may correct, update, or remove content. This disclaimer does not exclude an express obligation in a separate signed agreement or a warranty or right that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

Limits of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Lewis Matlock and CyberWiz are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of, or inability to use, this free informational website. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Liability for paid services is addressed in the applicable engagement agreement, subject to mandatory law.

Applicable law and disputes

California law governs these website terms to the extent permitted by applicable law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections in their place of residence. Contact lewis@cyberwiz.io to raise a concern; doing so is not a prerequisite to exercising legal rights. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration, waive class proceedings, shorten statutory claim periods, or restrict a forum required by mandatory law.

Updates and interpretation

Effective October 24, 2026. Revised terms will be posted with a new effective date and apply prospectively. Material changes to an existing engagement require the process in that engagement’s agreement; merely posting changes here does not amend it. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to the extent permitted by law. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These website terms do not transfer your obligations under a separate agreement.
